Ecofeminists tend to agree that the domination of women and the domination of nature are fundamentally connected. Environmental activism is integral to overcoming the oppression of women.
From my perspective, if you want to be a great leader you must be aware of your relationship to the environment. Leading from a place of compassion for self, others and the world that sustains you is critical to systemic health and well-being.
It is impossible to ignore the surge in energy toward women's rights, and climate change continues to be a hot topic. Perhaps these two movements, one about having a healthy relationship with the feminine and the other about having a healthy relationship toward Mother Earth, should be examined together?
Humans have always been been in awe of the raw, unyielding forces of nature. We surrender to their power, despite resistance. Leaders seek to understand the impact of climate change while scientists whisper the harsh reality that the human species may be responsible for its own mass extinction. What will it take for us to question our earthly cosmology?
